Small Steps Project (SSP) is a charity incredibly close to our hearts. A charity which our founder & Director Alex is extremely proud to be a trustee of and one which for the last 10 years has been working tirelessly to tackle the human issues faced by the communities living on landfills around the world; raising awareness of the drastic effects of our global obsession with consumer products.

Small Steps are dedicated to helping children and families living on rubbish dumps and landfill sites, with one of the many incredible fundraisers being a yearly celebrity shoe auction, which is hosted online every Autumn. Their vision is to provide these families with shoes and aid that will enable them to take small steps off the landfill sites and hopefully into education and also to “improve global awareness of international waste systems and the human rights violations encountered by waste scavengers, through documentary films” (SSP).

Plain Jane Events helped them plan one of their first ever auction events at The Royal Society of Medicine back in 2010 and we’re privileged to provide their wonderful team with on-going pro bono events support, as well as donations towards emergency aid, food and shoes.

Huge love and respect to the SSP staff & volunteers who have been living with and looking after some of the children at our project centres during lockdown. We see you, and we appreciate all the heartfelt work you are doing.

Thank you!

Love, Plain Jane
