York & Albany, Camden
We were thrilled to be back working alongside team Gordon Ramsay, this time bringing a slice of island life to the city, in the form of the York & Albany Rum Shack pop-up. Cue some seriously easy-going Caribbean vibes.
With a bamboo and seagrass cabin designed and installed as the stylish centrepiece, we splashed a burnt orange retro sunscape boldly across the feature wall, while vintage Bacardi artwork and kegs, beaded curtains and tiki cane plant stands and palms embellished the space to add tropical rustic charm.
We dotted brightly painted oil drum tables around the bar, hung playful rainbow festoon lighting overhead and weaved breezy floral prints throughout our design to create a warm and sunny welcome, and a cosy space to laze the summer away.
Surrounded by tribal masks and carvings, and a refreshingly laid-back feel, it’s easy to forget you’re as central as Camden, save for the crowds of post-work party-goers sipping on tin-can Bacardi rum sundowners, all eager for a little taste of paradise. After all, is there a better reason to unite than in the name of rum? If there is, we’ve yet to find it.
