We returned to Street Feast’s Hawker House for this year’s Christmas Party, where guests received a one way ticket to ‘Dreamland’…
A mysterious walkabout entertainer led guests through a shimmering curtain into the dream world, greeted by enigmatic figures serving fresh bubbles and tasty morsels of food. Making their way around the space, guests observed vacant swings swaying above, incredible floating fabrics subtly disguising the central stage, magical twilight trees in corners and white balloon clouds sweeping across the ceiling and bursting out of doorways. Fantasies came alive through graceful aerial silk artists, glowing stilt walkers and a cascading volcano of edible bubbles, which guests could bite right out of the air.
On the balcony, glitter face painters worked their magic and dreamy candyfloss cocktails were served underneath a giant illuminated balloon cluster. White fluffy clouds had drifted away and floated high above the people below; a chance for guests on the balcony to control the position of the clouds in the sky.
Vivid lights and vibrant hues alternated throughout the night, transforming the space into a dreamlike wonderland with each change of colour, mood and entertainment. Does lightning ever strike the same place twice? At this party it did… storms were brewing and intermittent lightning shows and sound effects brought dramatic changes to an already show-stopping party
