With a goal of selling their old clothes to raise money for charity, Julie Adenuga & Maya Jama created COLLECTIONS. To kick it all off the Plain Jane team helped them throw a big launch party for their website with a pop up shop in the heart of Shoreditch!
For one day only, we transformed the blank space of the Protein Studios to a full working fashion shop. Filling the space with rails packed of clothes ready to be sold with 100% of the profits raised being donated to 2 charities: Aclt charity + Savera uk.
To keep the main focus on the products for sale we kept the space simple, crisp and clean, with the main colours being black and white. Large logos on the walls created cool graphics. Shoppers were also treated to well-known DJ’s eg. Rachel Anson, AG, Donch and Emerald playing tunes from the central DJ booth all day long.
Once the shop was closed and all was sold, we quickly converted the space into a club-like venue where Julie and Maya invited their friends and family to celebrate the COLLECTIONS website launch. We rolled out the rails, darkened the lighting and brought in a bar sponsored by Bacardi where cocktails were being served throughout the night, including the girl’s favourites: Maya Ting & Julie Libre.
