The Bankside Vaults
1800 cocktails served on arrival
We decided to use The Bankside Vaults with its huge brick vaulted rooms which lent itself perfectly to the dark eerie circus theme. We knew the colour palette would be black and white with lots of stripes so we set to work designing each space taking inspiration from the book.
With 1800 guests to look after the spaces all needed to flow, with different things to see and do in each room. Guest were greeted by our circus performers who entertainment them throughout the night, including the mime artist, the ballerinas, the fortune teller and magicians, the skeleton stilt walkers and the amazing aerialist.
With 2 DJ’s playing in different rooms, we built stage sets around each one, turned dance podiums into lion cages, draped out the ceilings with big top style swags and hung mini monochrome marquee from the ceiling. Staff were all made up with clown faces and bowler hats and guests could use the makeup station to bring their circus character to life. We also produced a number of different animations for the large screens which added to the backdrop of this dark story as it unfolded.
